Formerly called Fort de la Cluse (which means close in old French), this impressive military site was significantly remodeled in 1830. It was in fact during this period that the remains of the old fortified castle of the lords of Gex which dated from the 13th century to build a more modern fort. It is now a military museum open for tours.

A fantastic panorama of Mont Blanc and all the Alps 🤩. The course is great for the start of the season and a little meal at Lisa's with lots of kindness

Magnificent small summit with a view of the Alps and the Mont-Blanc massif. Depending on whether you go through the back or over the ridges, the ascent can be easy or technical and tricky. There is a bench at the top to enjoy the view.

The Crêt de Chalam culminates at 1,540 m and offers a view to the east of the Valserine valley, the summit of Reculet, the Mont-Blanc massif and to the south of the Grand Crêt d'Eau and the peaks of Bugey. .
