Beautiful medieval castle. The main building is more recent. As a side note, the Isac River fed the castle's imposing moats, now dry, before being channeled to the current marina.

The Château de la Groulais, or Blain, is a medieval fortress located in the town of Blain, in Loire-Atlantique. Built in the 12th century by the Duke of Brittany Alain Fergent, then enlarged in the 13th century by the constable Olivier I de Clisson, and heavily remodeled in the 16th century in the Renaissance style, it was part of the defenses of the Franco-Breton border with the castles of Vitré, Fougères, Châteaubriant, Ancenis and Clisson.
