The Jeetze is a small river that flows picturesquely through the old town of Salzwedel, creating a charming connection between nature and historic city architecture. Lovingly restored half-timbered houses stand along its banks, creating an idyllic townscape, especially in the center. Historically, the Jeetze served not only as a water source and transportation route, but also played an important role in the city's brewing industry.
