The Salzwedel Tourist Information Center is located in the historic town hall tower and is the central point of contact for visitors to the Hanseatic city. It offers information on sights, city tours, events, and accommodations, as well as brochures, maps, souvenirs, and tickets. Salzwedel's town center is characterized by well-preserved brick Gothic architecture, picturesque half-timbered houses, and remnants of the old city wall with gates such as the Neuperver Tor. The focal point is the area around the town hall tower and the modern "Hanse-Welle" water feature, where cafés and shops invite you to linger. Around the center, the alleys of the old town are ideal for exploring by bike, allowing you to combine culture with exercise. In addition to the historic flair, institutions such as the Mönchskirche (Monks' Church), a concert and exhibition hall, and the Danneil Museum invite you to discover the town's history.
