Perched on its promontory, the old village of Cairanne offers lovely views of the vineyards of the Rhône valley. Among its heritage, the ramparts, the chapels and the old keep are worth noting.

Great view over the valley and vineyards. The place keeps what it promises from afar. Anyway worth a detour and a few meters of altitude 😅

Located in the heart of the southern Rhône valley, the village of Cairanne is perched on a promontory which offers a magnificent view of the surrounding vineyards, Mont Ventoux and the Saint-Andéol hill. In its eastern part, you go to explore the old village. Vestiges of the Middle Ages, the castle, the ramparts, the Autanne, Excès and Sergent gates as well as the four chapels display a unique architectural character. Take the time to stop at the tourist office. The town hall has set up beautiful discovery tours of the village.
