Located on the banks of the Lot River, Flumel offers a pleasant setting. Discover its castle and fortified town, and enjoy a break by the water before continuing your journey.

Ancient church, very photogenic from different points of view.

Built on a spur dominating the confluence of the Lémance and the Lot, it was restored around 1130 by the monks of the Saint-Géraud d'Aurillac abbey. It was sold as national property during the Revolution and the west wing was demolished. The site was used successively as a rectory, girls' school and hostel, and now hosts exhibitions.

Fumel Castle overlooks the River Lot. Guarding the border between Quercy and Agenais, the original fortress was transformed by the lords of Fumel during the Renaissance and Classical period. The castle now houses the services of the town hall. The flowery terraces and the old adjacent park are open to visitors.

You can visit the terraces free of charge all year round, except on July 14. Open from 8am to 10pm in July and August and from 8am to 8pm from September to June
