Very beautiful remains of an old castle. It's good to imagine what life might have been like here. A picnic area welcomes us to the side for lunch. Silence and serenity here.

This enormous megalith is large enough to enter. An impressive feat from the earliest times of mankind.

This 11-arched bridge owes its name to the Château du Vernay, located nearby. The lord of this castle led an expedition of four knights to England and murdered Thomas Becket at Canterbury Cathedral!

Imposing ruins, on the banks of the Thouaret, of a castle which was once a monastery. Small picnic area.

Small town of character in the heart of the Thouet valley. Do not miss the old medieval castle as well as the church (remains of the Romanesque abbey) and its museum. In the village, the halls, an underground fountain, Art Nouveau houses... Very nice stopover!
