The small, round chapel with niches, situated at the edge of the forest, was built in 1994 according to the plans of architect Hermann Wiechmann from Hayna, largely through the volunteer efforts of the Marienkapelle e.V. (St. Mary's Chapel Association), and consecrated in 1996. Its striking features include a conical roof with a spire and bell, as well as modern stained-glass windows. An old field chapel on Kapellenweg (Chapel Path) had been demolished in 1960 due to its dilapidated condition. A promise was made to build a new, more attractive chapel elsewhere. The chapel contains a neo-Gothic Pietà and an 18th-century statue of St. John Nepomuk, both painted. Also of note is the photographic documentation of those killed and missing in action during both World Wars.

The exact location of the lost village of Altsheim, part of Ottersheim near Landau, remains unknown. Archaeological investigations would provide answers, but have not yet been undertaken. The existence of the village is certain. It is assumed that it was finally abandoned by the beginning of the 17th century at the latest. Today, a stone marks the spot where Altsheim once stood. A small rest area with benches and a table right next to it invites visitors to take a break, for example, those cycling along the Tobacco Cycle Path.

A lovely place to rest and sit with a view of the Rhine. Accessible on foot or by bike.

The parish church of St. Mauritius serves the Catholic parish in Rülzheim. The oldest part of the church is the west tower, built on a late Gothic foundation in 1498. The current nave was built in 1767 and later expanded.
