Located in the communes of Châtenoy and Coudroy, the Noue Mazone pond belongs to the supply system of the Orleans canal. With a surface area of more than 36 ha, it is one of the most remarkable ponds in the Orléans forest. Many protected species are listed on this site, such as the reed bunting (Emberiza schoeniclus) and the night heron (Nycticorax nycticorax), classified as vulnerable on the regional red list of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) or the stump lizard (Lacerta agilis), an endangered species on this same list.
