From Martangy to the west, this pass provides access to Saint-Benin-des-Bois. 4km long, with an average gradient of 4%, it offers reasonable gradients on a well-maintained road through the undergrowth. At the summit (434m) is an imposing telecommunications tower.

Coming from Nyon, Komoot allows the direct route via Les Verges. However, it's gravel, and at the end you have to carry your bike up a small embankment. It's better to take the outside route via the Route des Quemins (a 100m detour).

Built in a vast 156-hectare park, on the site of an ancient fortress of which only a tower and the moat remain, the castle adjoins the Amognes forest, enclosed by a 7-kilometer-long wall. The current castle was built between the 17th and 19th centuries.

Surprising discovery in the middle of the field

Forgebas, formerly Forges-Basses, housed a forge until the 19th century, producing one- to two-ton anchors on the banks of the Nièvre. The industrial past of this hamlet, difficult to imagine today, still survives thanks to the forge's square tower and the workers' houses, which, although renovated, are still inhabited. An interesting information panel tells us about the history of the site.
