Beautiful walks are possible in the Rocher de Cheffois area, not forgetting cycle routes. A major trail runs along the Rocher quarry lake.

This old quartzite quarry was active until 1953. Beautiful rock walls dominate the quarries, now redeveloped into a bucolic body of water.

Rochereau Lake, with an area of 125 hectares, is the largest drinking water reserve in the Grand Lay Valley, fed by the Le Maine River. It has good fishing conditions and is home to a rich fish diversity in white fish, predatory fish and common and mirror carp of intermediate size.

With a beach and walking path around the perimeter, this lake is the perfect place to visit and spend time hiking.

Former quartzite quarry in operation until 1953, you can admire during this walk the beauty of the rock walls that dominate these quarries now converted into a body of water. It is also a site known for a long time by regional botanists and naturalists, in particular because of the existence of a specialized flora including several rare or remarkable species for the region.

There are the ruins of an ancient abbey on the edge of a lake, as well as a gîte in the heart of the hills near Pouzauges.
