Between the Middle Ages, Renaissance and modernity, Tulette has undergone many changes over the centuries, of which vestiges still remain. The city walls, now restored, enclose all its different ages. The Waterwheel, set up in the 20th century, is the last in a series of more than twenty. It originally operated a metal turning workshop, for the manufacture of screws for the press. Saint-Pierre church, at the very top of the village, bears witness to the town's Cluniac past. Looking up through the alleys, some houses still reveal their stone ornaments.

Great view over the valley and vineyards. The place keeps what it promises from afar. Anyway worth a detour and a few meters of altitude 😅

Located in the heart of the southern Rhône valley, the village of Cairanne is perched on a promontory which offers a magnificent view of the surrounding vineyards, Mont Ventoux and the Saint-Andéol hill. In its eastern part, you go to explore the old village. Vestiges of the Middle Ages, the castle, the ramparts, the Autanne, Excès and Sergent gates as well as the four chapels display a unique architectural character. Take the time to stop at the tourist office. The town hall has set up beautiful discovery tours of the village.

Actually a wonderful bike path between Vaison-la-Romaine and Villedieu. Beautiful vineyards and great surroundings. Only after a thunderstorm it might look a bit different.

Vaison Cathedral, dedicated to Our Lady of Nazareth, is a Roman Catholic church and one of the two former cathedrals in Vaison-la-Romaine, France. It was formerly the seat of the Bishopric of Vaison, which was abolished under the Concordat of 1801 (Wikipedia).
