Dirt road, allows you to avoid the Vannes industrial area and reach the city center more easily. It can be done by road bike if you are not a stickler for cleanliness.

13th century chapel classified as a Historic Monument, as are the crypts located under the chapel. This atypical monument with its impressive staircase has the particularity of being built above a public road. It has a magnificent wooden altar, a bronze reliquary, and a pretty stone bell tower.

We can learn a thing or two from such detailed and clear markings! In France (or at least in Brittany) drivers seem to be more considerate towards cyclists than in many parts of Germany. We can learn a thing or two from that too!

The port of Vannes has been a regional port since 2017. It houses trade and passenger transport activities. The latter is provided from the ferry terminal, which the city of Vannes manages. As for the goods transport activity, it is developing from the public “commerce” quay built in 2013, which is managed directly by the Region. Since 1977, a tidal gate has guaranteed a deep water basin and can accommodate up to 230 boats.
