This picturesque little village has been classified as a green station. We find traces of its existence until 909. The curious story of this village: in the wake of the water crisis in 1959, it was decided to dam the Salagou to create a reservoir. The water height should be increased in two stages. Celles is located exactly at the height of both barrages. The village therefore had to be abandoned and the residents (80 people lived there in 1950) had to be relocated. However, the valley was only flooded up to the first water level, which is why Celles was spared. Since then, an initiative has been underway to resurrect the village.
