The Royal Château of Blois was the residence of queens, kings, and princes for more than four centuries. It was the preferred residence of Duke Charles of Orléans, the birthplace of Louis XII, who lived here with his wife Anne of Brittany, the first building constructed by the king and architect Francis I, the deathbed of Catherine de' Medici, and the home of Marie de' Medici in exile.

The old Abbey Church of Saint-Laumer was built between 1138 and the beginning of the 13th century and exhibits early Gothic features. Fleeing the Normans, Benedictine monks, laden with the relics of their founder, Saint-Laumer, found refuge in Blois. They decided to establish their monastery there, the Abbey Church of Saint-Laumer, commonly known as the Church of Saint-Nicolas. From 1138 to 1186, the monks built the choir, the transept, and the first bay, completing the construction at the beginning of the following century. When the Wars of Religion broke out, the church was mutilated and the abbey destroyed by the Protestants. The abbey was rebuilt in the 17th and 18th centuries, and during the Revolution, it became the Hôtel-Dieu.

Near the centre of Blois, this stretch of cycle path offers stunning views of the Loire and the Jacques-Gabriel bridge. The last humpback bridge over the Loire, it was built in the 18th century by Louis XIV's architect.

Blois Castle (French: Château Royal de Blois) is one of the castles of the Loire. It stands on a mountain spur on the right bank of the Loire in the French city of Blois in the Loir-et-Cher department. Because it was the residence of the French kings under the French ruling houses of Valois and Orléans from 1498 to 1589 and combines buildings from four eras in one complex, it is one of the most famous Loire castles.

In addition to its architectural wealth, the château houses an incredible collection of art, furniture and period objects. The royal apartments, restored and furnished, evoke the daily life of the Court and the power of the Renaissance. Since 1850, the château has housed the Museum of Fine Arts of the city of Blois. Opening of new rooms, projection of a sound and light show, immersive activities and visits, biannual exhibitions: each season, numerous events highlight the château's collections, offering a unique journey through more than a thousand years of history.

Saint-Nicolas, the listed former abbey church of Saint-Laumer (IMH) from the 12th century with Romanesque and Gothic style elements. The choir, the motif capitals and the altarpiece depicting Mary of Egypt (15th century) are worth seeing.
