In 1396, Jean de Chauveron obtained permission to fortify the place of Ris. He had bought it in 1385. His granddaughter passed the barony to the Hélie de Pompadour, who exchanged the whole to Pierre de Connigham on March 26, 1518, namely "the castle, castellany, land and lordship of Riz-Chauveron and Azat, together with any appurtenances and appendages, based and situated in the county of La Marche (...) with all justice and jurisdiction..."

The Stone Bridge dates 13th and 14th centuries. The bridge was registered as a historic monument on May 23, 1969.
