Much better route to go back up in wet weather, and less steep slope.

It's a bit hidden, and we didn't find any signs, but the view is absolutely amazing. Komoot will definitely help you find this spot.

Small highlight in the valley before heading back up the mountain:-)

The Col des Bœufs to Marla hike offers stunning views of the rugged landscapes of Reunion Island. As you begin your descent, you’ll be surrounded by lush vegetation, with the dramatic cliffs and deep ravines of the Cirque de Mafate on either side. The trail takes you through a beautiful combination of forests, wildflowers and panoramic views. Marla, a small village nestled in the heart of the cirque, is a peaceful place to rest. The hike is challenging but rewarding, offering a unique insight into one of the most remote and picturesque places on the island.

Attention: The lower part of the long staircase has collapsed...this path is not accessible!

Check carefully if the path is open on the ONF website, currently it is not, ladders have fallen and the passage is impossible. We went to do a small portion to see the view, and also came across a lot of superb "Bib" (golden nephila)!
