The main wash house, located in a rural setting at the end of the Chemin du Lavoir, a few dozen meters from the canal, was used and maintained regularly until the early 1960s and then abandoned. The AIRE integration association began work in winter and spring 2007 with the support of local companies for part of the supplies. The quality of the restoration of this wash house is praised by all visitors. At the end of the Chemin de la Fontaine is the second communal wash house. All that remains is a heap of stones and bricks recently cleared from the brush that hid it from the towpath walkers along the Caen Canal to the sea.
