Built in 1875 in the Neo-Gothic style, this church is the work of Joseph Bigot, the diocesan architect who was also responsible for the construction of the towers of Saint-Corentin Cathedral in Quimper. The size of the building reflects the population growth during the canning era. At its consecration in 1877, the tower was still unfinished. On June 18, 1940, at the request of General De Gaulle, the 115 students from the pilot schools in Le Mans and Vannes went to England on the lobster boat "Le Trébouliste", captained by François Lelguen. They formed the backbone of the units of the Free French Air Force and 35 of them disappeared on the Field of Honor. Lieutenant Pinot led them in an exemplary manner under difficult conditions. For his outstanding services, he was named Companion of the Libération.
