La Roche Merveilleuse offers a magnificent panorama of Cilaos as well as the peaks and ramparts that surround it. As indicated on site, legend has it that women with fertility problems came to rub their bellies on this rock.

From my point of view, all three valley basins should be visited on Reunion. Great to hike scenically. We also liked the underwater world.

Easy hike, also possible with children. Condition should of course be present ;-) Partly way with many roots. Very nice view of the entire Cirque de Cilaos basin. Pass the church on the left, then it is well signposted. The way back is also possible via the equally beautiful forest road.
