Piton des Neiges is a dormant volcano located in the center of Reunion Island. Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2010, it culminates at 3,070 meters above sea level. This volcano, inactive for about 12,000 years, is responsible for the creation of two thirds of the island. Its name is misleading since snowfalls are rare there, and eternal snow non-existent. However, it is cold there and, therefore, hikers who venture there must be well equipped.

Absolutely unique experience! I have never seen a more beautiful starry sky. In the morning we could see the whole island from above, an incredible feeling!

Yes, I wish you the best of luck. As I see, there are two of you, it's always better, especially when you go into the caves... The weather isn't particularly good... but always take something non-slip with you because nothing is secured, certainly none Paths that are marked in the 16th century.....Emergency kit is also a good idea because there was no emergency call at least during corona times or the iPhone emergency button worked but neither heli nor anyone else came in 3 days.... . You have to arrive early to have the chance to see the panorama, we made the round trip in one day, but we especially took advantage of the pouring rains of the afternoon and the mist! Arrived at the top, we did not have the expected panorama!!

The summit of Entre Deux, which culminates at 2,352 meters above sea level, is located on the rampart of the Kerveguen hillside which belongs to the Piton des Neiges massif. A few ladders facilitate its ascent from the Jacky Inard trail.
