Located at the junction between the Northern and Central Vosges mountains, Phalsbourg offers an ideal setting for mountain biking. The numerous surrounding trails allow for fun on rolling terrain without excessively steep inclines.

The village of Lutzelbourg offers an ideal setting for cycling, whatever the discipline. Accessible by train with your bike, it then allows you to cycle peacefully on the cycle path of the Éclusiers valley, or to venture out on a mountain bike on the first slopes of the Vosges mountains.

The section begins in Hofmuhl when coming from Saverne. The Valley of the Lock Keepers is an 8.2 km long paved path, so not exactly a mountain biking highlight, but very scenic.

The chalet is under the management of the CV Phalsbourg-Lutzelbourg, which celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2024

The castle complex is located on a spur on the Daubenschlag rock (French: Rocher du Daubenschlag). All that is visible here are the foundations of a large castle. Behind the clearly visible moat there is a strong shield wall, against which a large square keep (base area 11 × 11 meters) leans in the middle. In the middle of the castle complex there are still remains of a palace.
