옛 철도 노선의 훌륭한 정비.

로마 공학의 걸작인 퐁 뒤 가르(Pont du Gard)는 유네스코 세계 문화유산으로 지정되었습니다. 이 3단 수로는 이 지역의 상징적인 명소 중 하나입니다.

Originally a simple natural cave, La Baume served as a stone quarry from the 14th century onwards: the cavity, dug vertically, allowed blocks to be extracted from above, and an unfinished stone cross (discovered in 1999) still recalls the presence of stonemasons. In the 17th and 18th centuries, the site was transformed: a vault, a facade wall, paving, and a residential tower bear witness to new agricultural and artisanal uses. The walls also shelter 75 rectangular niches, former beehives carved into the rock between the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Once closed by wooden doors and protected by awnings, they constitute one of the largest known troglodytic apiaries in France. Stone extraction, storage, beekeeping, water management, and traces of workshops reveal here the ingenuity of the artisans of yesteryear. Just a short distance from Montfrin, this amazing and informative site is worth a detour and deserves a visit.

The cycle path is very pleasant, especially on this section: peaceful, with beautiful views. I rode along it at the end of the day; the setting sun cast an orange light on the trees – it was magnificent!
