A route mainly on very passable paths and old narrow cycle paths. Mountain biking required.

A great concrete-topped path which is shared by walkers, joggers and cyclists. Road shoes are fine - it is narrow in places, so be prepared to give way. It leads you adjacent to the dunes to the Hourtin lighthouse.

Nice little gimmick, probably put up by the forestry administration. I would have preferred a better surface.

At this point or a whole section of the road is closed to cars in summer. Nice surface from the EV1 coastal cycle path.

Nestled between lakes and ocean in the Hourtin nature reserve, the Contaut lagoon is an exceptional natural site. A wooden footbridge facilitates its crossing in a remarkable green setting.

Hourtin-Plage is about ten kilometers west of the town. Accessible by car or bus, the beach has many shops and activities which are mainly open from June to October.
