Built on a feudal mound, these ruins are those of the castle founded in 1097. It was one of the ducal castles controlling the Epte River, which then marked the border between Normandy and the Kingdom of France. Given its location, which makes it visible for miles around and offers a panoramic view of the surrounding area, the strategic importance of this position is easily understood. It is currently undergoing major restoration work supported by the Heritage Foundation with the aim of one day making the site accessible to the general public. The road runs around the ramparts.

Pretty village located below the slopes of the Vexin plateau on the bank of the Seine. Its castle, property of La Rochefoucauld, dominated by a medieval keep, and the arboretum are worth a visit.

The castle was built by William II of England to defend his Norman lands against the French, and has witnessed several sieges and battles over the centuries. The Potager-Verger du Château de la Roche Guyon is a French-style vegetable and fruit garden that is open to the public and allows you to stroll through this wonderful place. The garden faces the Château de la Roche-Guyon, a medieval castle built on a limestone cliff overlooking the Seine. The garden was created in the 17th century by Madeleine Le Tellier de Louvois, wife of François VIII de La Rochefoucauld, first Duke of La Roche-Guyon. The garden has 675 fruit trees, including pear, apple, peach and plum trees, as well as vegetables and aromatic plants. The garden was restored in 2004, after being abandoned for nearly a century. It has received the Remarkable Garden label from the Ministry of Culture.
