The Phare de la Fenêtre (Fenêtre Lighthouse) stands at the Port de la Houle on the "Jetée de la Fenêtre" (Fenêtre Jetty) and was built in 1863 to ensure navigation in the busy harbor. The lighthouse's light source was modernized in 1913, and later served primarily as a landmark ("Amer"). The granite and sandstone structure is approximately 10 meters high and well preserved. Today, the lighthouse is not open to the public but can be viewed from the harbor and the pier. The famous Cancale oyster market is located in its immediate vicinity.

The Cale de l'Épi is a historic lock in the port of La Houle, built in 1838 and later expanded. With its 50-meter-long quay and its characteristic 19 arches, it was used for fishing and oyster farming. Today, it offers a beautiful view of the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel.

North of the town of Cancale, this beautiful 2-km-long sandy beach adjoins the lagoon and is home to a back-littoral marsh where you can observe characteristic flora and fauna. Numerous activities are available on site: swimming, hiking, geocaching, and visits to two of Cancale's must-see heritage sites: the Verger Chapel and the Daules customs guardhouse. Lifeguards are available during the summer.

Cancale is a prime destination for hikers. Because of its remarkable landscape and its famous rock. However, this town is very bumpy. So be in good shape to walk around. A major drawback (for me) is that this town is saturated with cars and other drivers. Probably because of the bumps... The air is therefore unhealthy and cycling can be dangerous. Otherwise, you have to go there, just to take the traditional photo.
