Some might pass by this small, sacred monument without a second glance, but perhaps a passing biker might pause for a moment before the cross and, in keeping with ancient custom, utter a "Praised be Jesus Christ." Jesus Christ died for us on the cross, for the Son of God took this death upon himself out of love for us. Christiane Völkel offers a further reflection on this: "I have discovered that it benefits my relationship with God to at least be ready for those moments when God needs me to express his love [today]."

A superb road linking the Cassettes, Pilon and Sauvages passes. We have very beautiful and very wild views of the valley and even the Alps in clear weather.

The pass of the pavilion culminates at 755 meters above sea level. The view of the western slope is quite unobstructed. I recommend a stop at the Le Pavillon hostel-hotel, which offers good food and allows you to take a break after climbing the pass.

Junction between the Col des Sauvages, Cassettes, Pilon and many mountain bike trails. We can enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding forests and great tranquility on a very small road, it is literally peace.

A rolling pass in the Soanan valley on the Valsonne side and on the other side towards Amplepuis. The road is quite busy with in particular the passage of heavy goods vehicles. However, a very wide cycle lane with good asphalt allows you to climb safely. You can make the junction towards the Col de la Croix de l'Orme, the Col des Cassettes at the top.

This is the must-see in the surroundings, a magnificent tour of the lake perfectly laid out, with a dyke side and a beach side, you go from one setting to another on the same tour. Around the lake: 4.4km The largest biological swimming pool in Europe has come to rejuvenate and renew the attraction for this place.

Pass to do in the sequence between the Ecorbans and the Echarmeaux. No big drop offs, fairly gritty road, wide and few viewpoints. Well shaded and fairly uncrowded road. It doesn't look like it's a pass and yet!

6월 28, 2022, Col de la Croix Nicelle (782 m)
Nice pass to do from St Bonnet le Troncy, from St Nizier d'Azergues, or in the descent from Favardy. On the bike course of the Lac des Sapins triathlon to spice it up with a little d+. From St Nizier the climb is quite long with good percentages. The points of view are not legion. The view at the pass is not too present, you have to move to have a view (especially in the direction of Favardy). The pass is seldom used, which makes it all the more enjoyable. You can take the GR7 forest path in gravel or mountain biking from the pass. The cross is located at the very beginning of the descent to St Bonnet on the left at the edge of the forest.
