The first official mention of the village of Châtillon-sur-Saône dates back to 1234 in the district of "Bar". In 1348, the Counts of Bar built a seat and castle. The 14th and 15th centuries are marked by the "Hundred Years War", war also between the duchies of Lorraine and Burgundy. In 1484, the village is destroyed and the area is slammed Lorraine. From 1500 to 1600 the village is rebuilt.
