The imposing medieval castle of Roure, made up of a square keep and two main buildings, has been classified as a historic monument since 1975.

This castle is located on a rocky spur which dominates the upper valley of the Lot. It was destroyed by the Huguenots during the wars of religion. Of the former seat of the family of the barons of Tournel, only ruins remain. They are impressive, as several towers are still standing. Restoration work takes place regularly in order to preserve this historical heritage.

This castle dating from the 13th century and which was remodeled in the 15th and 18th century is absolutely beautiful! It would be located on the site of an old Roman camp, hence the name of Champ which was attributed to it. It has been passed down in the same family from generation to generation since its foundation.
