To honor the many American paratroopers and infantrymen who lost their lives in this region, a statue named "Iron Mike" was erected there. This statue is similar to the one that can be seen at Fort Bragg (USA), where the 82nd Airborne Division was - and still is - based.

24h parking was only 4 Euros. We used this a the base for our days ride.

Very beautiful church which marked the history of 1944

To see the phenomenon of the white marshes, you have to go there in winter (January - February - March for example). The roads can be greasy and / or flooded, mudguards are good to have. Otherwise beautiful region pleasant and calm to do also the rest of the time.

Anyone talking about the Normandy landings can't miss St. Mere l'Eglise. Here, everything revolves around the landing of the 101st Airborne. It's a true tourist hotspot, so it can quickly become overcrowded. It's still worth a visit. There are also plenty of opportunities to take a break with a coffee and a crêpe.
