Magnificent place! The Lande Forêt pond is located in the heart of the Grais departmental forest. By bike, it is accessible via a secure route from the Briouze-Bagnoles greenway in Orne Normandy. An interpretive walking trail and wooden decks allow you to go around the pond. Picnic tables, bicycle boxes and a shelter are available at the entrance to the site.

The Joué-du-Bois manor was built at the end of the 15th century and surrounded by a moat and towers. Damaged during the Wars of Religion and the Second World War, it was restored and preserved as a historical monument. You can admire the architecture and gardens of the manor, as well as the surrounding village and countryside. The mansion is not open to the public, but you can still enjoy its exterior view from a distance.

Saint Roch (Saint-ROCH), to whom this chapel is dedicated as patron, was born in Montpellier, France, in the middle of the 14th century. He is popularly considered – along with Saint Sebastian – to be the “plague saint”. What is characteristic of the depiction of Rochus in paintings and as statues is that he usually points to a plague boil on his leg; A dog can often be seen at his feet, because according to legend, when he was caring for plague patients, he himself fell ill with it and retreated into solitude, providing him with bread every day. Saint-ROCH's memorial day in the calendar of saints is August 16th.

It is the largest marsh in the Orne with 200 hectares. It is a real treasure trove for fauna and flora, where nearly 170 different species of birds use it as a breeding site. The best thing is to meet the staff who maintain the marsh: Camargue horses and Scottish cattle!

Many forest trails suitable for trail running

This pond is located in the middle of the Grais national forest. It can be accessed in several ways: by a small road or by the numerous forest trails. There are picnic tables for an ideal break in a bucolic setting.

The construction of this castle, one of the most important in the region, began in 1404. There remains from this period the battlement with battlements and machicolations, accessible to visitors. You have to climb to observe the footprint left, according to legend, by the fairy of Argouges ... and above all to discover the magnificent panorama. The pavilions at each corner date from the end of the 16th century, the main buildings from the 18th. They were rebuilt after a violent fire as well as the stables built at the same time. The site, restored after the bombing in 1944, is listed in the inventory of Historic Monuments. The castle houses the town hall and the prehistoric museum in its basement. The 17th century park is attributed to Le Nôtre. There remains a beautiful perspective of trees more than a hundred years old, at the back of the house.
