This section is called "Comans Track" and is part of the long "Hillary Trail". It can then be added to the "Mercer Bay Loop Track" and offers further phenomenal views of the coast and other bays and mostly runs through a fascinating jungle. It ends in Karekare on the long and impressive beach there, where you could even continue walking on the Hillary Trail. It is worth it, but together with the Mercer Bay Loop it takes about half a day to walk.

This track leads from Whatipu Road to the summit of Omanawanui (241m). It is a lovely coastal walk from the entrance of the small car park which is also the entrance to the Puriri Ridge Walk and Don Mcclean. There is a lovely walking track and a new lookout at the highest point with fantastic 360 degree views. You can return the same way or continue hiking to Whatipu.

The Otago region is located on the South Island. The east coast between Oamaru and Dunedin is particularly worth a stop. Our first encounter with wild seals and penguins made the dramatic coastal landscape a special place for us. The rugged coast of Otago offers some fantastic opportunities for wildlife watching and curious rock formations. But the scenically beautiful Otago Peninsula is also a real highlight.

Aotea Square is a large paved public space in Auckland's central business district. Officially opened by Sir Dove-Myer Robinson in 1979, adjacent to Queen Street, it is used for open-air concerts and gatherings, markets and political rallies.
