Beautiful route in the hinterland of Porto Vecchio. I recommend it.

Carbini has barely more than 100 inhabitants, but it is nevertheless a historic place. The Giovannali, a 14th-century breakaway group of the Franciscans, had their roots here. Because they refused to pay taxes, they became enemies of the state and were brutally massacred during a crusade. The Sentier des Giovannali still commemorates them today, and from the summit, "A Punta," one can enjoy a fantastic panorama.

There's actually not much going on early in the morning or in the evening, and traffic increases significantly during peak bathing times. In any case, it's definitely worth cycling around the Palombaggia Peninsula.

Coming from Ceccia, the road is significantly less steep than from Pasciallelo. There's really not much traffic on this small road. But that doesn't mean you don't have to be careful: On the exit to Passciallelo, a Corsican van came towards me and, without being able to see her, took a hairpin bend in such a way that I almost collided with it. It was thanks not only to my driving skill, but also a fair amount of luck, that I neither collided with the van nor ended up in the half-meter-deep ditch next to the road.
