As of August 2024, some stepping stones are now moved. You can no longer cross on them and will need to enter the water. Also, almost no directions/signs. Some paths are very overgrown. Beautiful but impossible to complete. Water is at least 40cm deep on dry days. Better walks in forest nearby.

The Rongère lock is a historic and panoramic site on the Mayenne River in France. There you will see the old mill, the bridge and the lock keeper's house, which date from the 19th century. You can also enjoy views of the river and surrounding countryside. A great way to discover the heritage and nature of South Mayenne.

The old bridge at Parné-Sur-Roc is a medieval bridge which spans the Ouette in the village of Parné-sur-Roc. This bridge dates from the 13th century or the 14th century and has seen illustrious people such as King Charles VIII and Madame de Sévigné pass through it. Here I almost died. I think I had the scare of my life. Having lost control of my bike on the slope, I fell on my luggage rack, and it braked my rear wheel, veiling it. This is a really pretty lock (ecluse) to stop at. It features an old mill which has been turned into a hotel and a very pretty lock keeper's cottage. You can also marvel at the chateau on the hill which overlooks the rover.
