Someone – apparently quite some time ago – added this simple chapel as a highlight in the komoot system for the sport of 'mountain biking', but without posting anything about it or uploading any pictures. This chapel was built in 1402 and was a stopover for pilgrims en route to Mont-Saint-Michel. Until around 1840, the site housed a shelter, a bread oven and a cellar to facilitate the stopover of pilgrims. Today, one can enjoy the site for its tranquility and its breathtaking view. The perfect place to take a break from your run.

The Chapel of La Croix-Lamare was built by a local citizen who gave it his name. He built it to repent of his sins. Only God knows what he could have done and what a contrast to today's world where we would need a building permit and where we had to respect the building regulations!
