Narrow concrete cycle path along the Lys.

Marina on the canal, the cycle path is great up to there.

Newly constructed buildings along the Leie in 1922 for Bières Motte-Cordonnier (bières de l'Etoile) and revived in 2018 with a brewery and bottling plant (can be visited on Fridays or by appointment).

Barrages d'Armentières: On the edge of Armentières lies a unique weir on the Lys, a technical junction that regulates the water level and keeps the river navigable. This weir is not only functional, but also historical: during the Battle of the Lys in April 1918, German troops tried to break through to the Channel ports via this passage. The weir and bridges were strategic targets at the time.

NA FOED EU MENWA'N ANGHOF EYTH THIS MEMORIAI IS DEDICATED BY THE ROYAL WELCH FUSILlERS AS A TRIBUTE TO THE 8 OFFICERS, 20-NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS AND 69 FUSILIERS OF THE 1ST BATTALION WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES AS A RESUIT OF THE ACTIONS BETWEEN THE 23RD AND 27TH MAY 1940 IN THE SAINT-VENANT, SAINT-FLORIS AND ROBECO AREA, TO DELAY THE ADVANCE OF THE GERMAN DIVISIONS ON THE CHANNEL PORTS. THEY LIE WITH HONOUR IN SAINT-VENANT AND NEIGHBOURING GRAVEYARDS. THIS MEMORIAL ALSO PAYS TRIBUTE TO THE SUFFERING OF THE LOCAL POPULATION AND THE CARE AND ASSISTANCE GIVEN BY-THEM DURING THIS TIME.

The monument was renovated in 1985 (the names were re-inscribed on marble plaques). Originally, the monument was flanked by two artillery pieces (75 mm cannons), the latter were removed by the Germans in 1943.

The walks are always pleasant, if you pay attention you can observe the local wildlife.
