Inxent is a small commune in the Pas-de-Calais department of France. Inxent is located in the valley of the river Course, about 8 km north of Montreuil-sur-Mer on the D127 road. The village is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Nord Pas-de-Calais and can be discovered during a quiet walk along the water of the valley of the Course. Many English people buy a house in this region as a country residence. The route is popular with English tourists: hence the "keep right" signs

In 1913, the Notre-Dame-de-la-Mer church, of neo-Romanesque inspiration, as we know it today, was therefore built, rue de l'Eglise, on the plans of the Parisian architect , Louis Faille. It succeeds two churches that have disappeared. During the First World War, an English hospital was set up in Camiers and the soldiers who visited Notre-Dame-de-la-Mer offered two stained glass windows: Saint-Georges and Saint-Patrice. Between the two wars, the veterans of the Machine Gun Corps offered a third, Sainte-Geneviève, in memory of those of their companions who fell between 1914 and 1918.

Small parking between the trees; there is also a small parking lot at the end of the road against the beach but halfway it is closed to campervans so that they cannot drive up to the parking against the beach (out of season the barrier is open).

=> The lake before 2005: Until the 2000s, the lake was a place intended for leisure, with the possibility of pedal boating and fishing in the lake. Around it were a creperie, a refreshment bar, an arcade games room, a few rides and a small train. Avenue Charlemagne ran along the lake and then allowed a direct automobile connection between the west of Condette and the Hardelot station. => The lake since 2008: The lake underwent a major redevelopment between 2005 and 2008 to restore its natural appearance from the beginning of the 19th century1. It is today the heart of the Condette marsh regional nature reserve, an area classified in 2009. The 35 hectares which make it up are thus set up for walking, and provisions have been put in place to protect and enhance the the very varied fauna and flora that it shelters. At the same time, Avenue Charlemagne became the “Chemin du Lac” and was closed to automobile traffic, first in one direction of traffic (decree taken in 20071) then in both (in 2013), lengthening travel times of 2 to 7 minutes between Écault or the west of Condette, and Hardelot. Today, the place is of significant tourist and educational interest.
