The parish of Pecqueuse is part of a whole called "The Pastoral Sector of Limours", a sector divided into three groups. Pecqueuse depends in particular on the Limours group. The Saint Médart church is open every first Saturday of the month at 6 p.m. in winter, 6:30 p.m. in summer for Sunday mass. It has existed, probably in wood since the 11th century. The current church, with a single nave, was built in several stages; the choir being the oldest part, probably from the 13th century, local style vaulted in a cul-de-four then enlarged at the end of the 15th century. The altar and the altarpiece date from the 18th century, the woodwork of the choir in gray and gold perhaps comes from the grand seminary of Versailles. The altar painted in faux marble is decorated with an imposing tabernacle, also painted in gray and gold.

A village of medieval origin, Rochefort en Yvelines is well worth a little detour, as the town has retained its picturesque character with its old houses and cobbled streets, and in its center the small market square, a quiet spot near the bakery with a fountain. The most curious, and the bravest, will go up (on foot) to the church which overlooks the town and the forest. You will also see the remains of the fortified castle hidden in the woods.
