Forgebas, formerly Forges-Basses, housed a forge until the 19th century, producing one- to two-ton anchors on the banks of the Nièvre. The industrial past of this hamlet, difficult to imagine today, still survives thanks to the forge's square tower and the workers' houses, which, although renovated, are still inhabited. An interesting information panel tells us about the history of the site.
