On the GR 54 Tour de Ecrins tour, stage 11 and 1st photo of the view from the 12th and last day's stage.... the refuge is very good and highly recommended, the lake was unfortunately too cold for us, but beautiful to look at and the tour overall fantastic!

We camped here on our last night of the GR54, a Friday evening in mid-August. It was very busy with young people and smelled like a public toilet. It's a shame this spot became famous through TikTok and is now less idyllic than the route leading up to it suggested.

Magnificent mountain lake!! However, bring good shoes because there is a lot of elevation and a repellent for flying insects because during our breaks, it is impossible to be quiet

A magnificent mountain lake where swimming is a pleasure, despite a slight influx of hikers. Bring your courage, good shoes, and a good hour's walk before you can dip your toes in.

The refuge is located in the heart of the Écrins park, slightly overlooking the Muzelle lake. It has a capacity of 70 beds and offers a catering service.
