Les Salines d'Arc-et-Senans is a historic saltworks complex located in eastern France. It is known for its impressive architecture and its importance in salt production during the 18th and 19th centuries.

This former 18th century saltworks was used during the reign of Louis XV to transform brine. Today listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the saltworks are a place of biodiversity, exhibition, culture and reception. The Loue is a river full of charm, which meanders between the departments of Doubs and Jura. A tributary of the Doubs river, the Loue lends itself to all types of activities ranging from kayaking to fly fishing. Or simply swimming, like here in Rennes-sur-Loue. From this point, you can find small beaches and an island, in the middle of the river, just waiting for you.

The Royal Saltworks of Arc-et-Senans is listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO. Built by Claude Nicolas Ledoux, a very renowned architect of the Age of Enlightenment, this factory was responsible for the production of salt during the reign of Louis XV. The enclosure now covers five hectares and can be visited.
