The Old Castle of Meslay was an old fortress of the 15th century evolving into a pleasure castle in the 16th and 17th centuries. The southern gateway to Vendôme, Porte Saint-Georges has towers on its sides, mostly built in the 14th century. By reaching it by the bridge, one can see its battlements, its ornamental sculptures and its decoration of medallions which date from the Renaissance, added between the 15th and the 16th century.
