Very beautiful cave to see at the bend in the main path near Villers sous Saulnot

A good place for a break in the shade of the trees. There are picnic benches.

The cave is now called Réseau de la Sapoise.

The first written mention of the Baume de Gonvillars comes from 1833. The difference in altitude within the cave is only about 42 meters over almost 6 kilometers explored.

A pleasant spot for a short break, it's also a crossroads for many paths. The route around the pond is doable by mountain bike, but it's difficult to navigate in places.

Actually, this is a cave, and a very long cave and that is dangerous even in heavy rains. The cave portal is impressive, the parts behind it are very narrow, loamy and wet when you reach the stream.

Through a small entrance labyrinth you can get into a beautiful water passage after a short time. You can follow this passage a good kilometer to a siphon. The long way is only accessible for divers.
