From this point of view, you can admire the town of Veules-les-Roses and its river, the Veules, famous for being the shortest in France. You can even see it flow into the sea nearby.

Located at the sources of the Veules, the watercress beds once provided the river's primary product: watercress. The flow, the clear, lively water of the Veules favored this crop. This cruciferous vegetable is appreciated for its spicy flavor and smell similar to mustard. From mid-August to the end of May (watercress is a winter salad rich in vitamins, no watercress production from June to mid-August), Monsieur Mahieu offers the sale of watercress, soup and watercress butter. Find these products on the Luneray market on Sunday mornings, and on Sundays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Veules watercress beds (5 p.m. out of season).

Right next to the car park and the source of the Veules, you can enjoy a pleasant and shaded picnic area. Places could be expensive in high season!

The Château de Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer is a 17th century castle which belonged to a minister of Louis XIV. It is surrounded by a beautiful park that borders the coast. You can enjoy the view of the sea, the trees and the architecture while running along the paths. The park is open to visitors on weekends in July and August, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The panorama of the chalk cliffs, Sotteville-sur-mer is a remarkable natural site located on the Côte d'Albâtre in Normandy. It offers breathtaking views of the sea and the white chalk cliffs that contrast with the blue of the ocean. To access the beach, you have to take a staircase of 231 steps that descends between two sections of cliffs. It is an ideal place to go for a hike, admire the landscape and breathe the sea air. You can also take advantage of the flax fields which bloom in June and which give a touch of color to this verdant setting.

Traces of the market mill can be found from 1442. Located on the left bank of the Veules, it belonged to the abbey of Fécamp. Only the turbine remains today.

Bordered by the promenade dressed in its beach cabins from April, the long pebble beach reveals a vast expanse of sand at low tide to enjoy swimming. On one side the whiteness which gave its name to this coast, the Alabaster Coast, and on the other the Cap d'Ailly where the brown of the clay is mixed.

Along the Veules and its valley are several mills and a wide variety of villas and houses, often made of brick and flint. The most attractive spots can be found near the watering hole and at the springs of the Veules, where watercress beds have been created.

4월 24, 2023, Moulin Anquetil
Rapeseed oil mill, then flour mill, it was sold as national property in 1793 to Martin Guesnel, farmer of the mills of the abbey of Fécamp. Transformed in 1809 into a wheat mill, it became an oil mill again in 1856. It operated until it was destroyed during the fighting in June 1940. The reach, the bases of the walls, and a metal waterwheel are the only preserved witnesses.
