Nice Cycling trail. Can get muddy in winter though

This cycleway runs along the eastern side of the lake, offering lovely views of the reservoir and country park. It’s a great spot to take a break, refuel, or enjoy a picnic.

The Arboretum was officially opened on the 4 th May 1974 by Lady Hatherton. A celebratory gala, comedy entertainment and a military presence from the 7 th Dragoon Guards marked the occasion. In Tragic events in 1845 the then mayor of Walsall John Harvey, Drowned while taking a evening swim in Hatherton lake. In the search for his body a 19 year old man also died when their boat capsized on the lake.

Stopped off at a church at the park. Always something going on. Then an additional 7 plus miles home.

This house is mentioned in the Doomsday book and was built in the 16th century and is steeped in history. It's a grade II listed building and one of if not the oldest building in Aldridge.

The beautiful green space in Aldridge village, with its lovely mature trees. Lovely for picnics in the summer. A children's park to the side keeps the little ones happy.

A former colliery railway, now a heritage railway running round the shores of Chasewater. Chasewater Heaths station facilities include a cafe and a rebuilt signal box.

Lots of restored trains and carriages, museum, small shop and cafe. Lovely place to see old steam engines close up!

Plenty of parking at the visitor centre, a great park for the kids, pretty views, watersports, crazy golf, steam engines and museum just up the road from the car park... lots to do here on a sunny day! Lots of the tracks around the reservoir can be boggy even in summer so good waterproof footwear is a must if you intend to walk the whole way round! 😊

Great 10k track even if your not running the official track. Lovely park

Anglesey wharf bridge

Aldridge croft, a lovely urban park for families to enjoy, with a children's play area too. Unfortunately the Owl has gone from the tree stump as the inside of the tree rotted and the carving fell away.
