In Renaissance style, this 16th century private castle was built by Henri II for his favorite Diane de Poitiers. A fantastic building to admire while running.

The Château de Sorel, is a 17th century castle located on a hill overlooking the Eure and offering a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. We can imagine the lives of its former inhabitants, such as Antoine de la Viefville, marquis d'Orvillers, who built it in 1650. The castle is also linked to the famous playwright Beaumarchais, whose wife and daughters performed there in the 19th century. A first castle of Louye is mentioned in the historical annals of Normandy as being one of the last fortresses of the line of defense of Richard the Lionheart against Philippe Auguste. Only a few masonry elements remain of this original fortress, the castle having been completely rebuilt between 1478 and 1508 by the Dreux family. It is a private property that has belonged to the same family since the end of the 19th century.
