The setting here is truly stunning. The Rabassoles ponds shine in the valley, standing out against the surrounding granite cliffs. You can see the Rabassoles pond (1,851 metres), the Blue pond (1,920 metres) and the Black pond (1,970 metres).

Lake Campauleil has existed since 1941, following the construction of a dam by EDF. It culminates at 814 meters above sea level and becomes, thanks to the dam, a small paradise for fisherman. Easily accessible, the lake becomes an ideal place to relax or enjoy a good picnic with family or friends.

The Etang de Naguilles is a dam lake which supplies the hydroelectric power station of Orlu. With an area of almost 100 hectares, it culminates at 1,855 meters. Now in industrial use, the pond has long animated local tales and legends. The Ariégeois say that the pond of Naguilles was born from the meeting of a blacksmith and the beast of the forest of Naguilles. The blacksmith allegedly gave the ferocious ferocious beast a white-hot iron bar. The beast, then thirsty, would have emptied all the water sources of the mountain before exploding at the current location of the pond.

The En Beys refuge which overlooks the eponymous ponds culminates at an altitude of 1,970 meters, in the heart of the Orlu national reserve. Situated on the great GR 7 which connects the Vosges to the Pyrenees, the refuge remains an excellent detour for the GRP® tour of the Ax Mountains or Tour des Pérics. In a warm and family setting, the refuge guardians offer 70 beds in high season as well as a complete catering offer. In winter, 15 places remain freely accessible, accessible through the window at the top of the ladder which fits on one of the walls of the building. The refuge is an ideal place to observe the burning of the granite walls of the Pics Rouges at sunset, or the galloping chamois in the snowfields in the early morning. L'Estagnas is a pond located on the GR 10 and GRP® tour des Montagnes d'Ax, at 2,056 meters above sea level. It is overlooked to its south-west by the powerful peak of Estagnas which culminates at 2,615 meters. Before passing the gate of Bésines (in Occitan toponymy, the term gate defines a pass with steep slopes), the pond whose colors change with the seasons, becomes a pleasant stopover to recharge your batteries.

The En Beys pond is part of a group of three ponds: the En Beys pond, the Couillade pond and the herb pond. A guarded refuge is present on the banks at the Gourd Gaudet pond.
