Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela, the Basilica of Saint-Etienne is distinguished by its rotunda inspired by the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.

At the exit of Saint Denis de Jouhet, stands a very strange old brick chimney 15 meters high! At the foot, you can see a building that housed coal-powered pumps that were used to pump water drawn from the stream below to the station located less than 1 km away. The water thus arrived at the water tower of the "Jouhet" station and was used to power the steam engines. On old postcards, you can see the chimney and the roof of the building in their environment at the time as well as the station opened on July 1, 1906 on the line from La Châtre to Guéret.

You are here, at the highest point in the Cher department and the Centre-Val de Loire region. It rises to an altitude of 504 meters. The roads leading there are quiet and peaceful.

Near Saint-Priest-La-Marche, at a place called Beddes in Cher (18) at an altitude of 454 m, discover the source of the Indre river which crosses the department of the same name (36) passing through the towns of Sainte Sévère, La Châtre, Ardentes, Châteauroux (prefecture), Buzançais. It is a tributary of the Loire.

From this road, you can see the Saint Genès church in all its grandeur. Classified as a historic monument since 1862, it is one of the most beautiful Romanesque churches in Berry, in addition to being particularly imposing. When it was built, between the end of the 11th century and the beginning of the 12th century, it was dedicated to Saint-Etienne then was finally renamed in the 17th century after Saint-Genès. It has numerous sculpted capitals.

Located on a rocky outcrop, the castle of Cluis-Dessous occupied a strategic position. In the 12th century, the keep is the oldest part of the building. The curtain wall, slightly more recent (12th-13th century), is typical of Plantagenêt architecture. The house, which dates from the 14th and 15th centuries, is only partially preserved.
