There is not much to see in the small village just before the Swiss border. A striking building is the church "Église Saint-Rémy". The church of Saint-Rémy in Hégenheim was consecrated in 1780, when the parish was still part of the diocese of Basel. This church replaced the destroyed church in the middle of the current cemetery, which was then the mother church of the villages of Allschwil, Hégenheim, Bourgfelden and part of Buschwiller.

On the square in front of the church there is also a memorial with the fallen of the two world wars, as in many Alsatian communities.

From Basel, Hegenheim is one of the easiest destinations in Alsace to reach. It is a good starting point for combinations in the direction of Hagenthal-le-Bas, Buschwiller or north to Hésingue and on.

Hégenheim (originally German Hegenheim, Alsatian Hageme or Hägeme) is a French commune with around 3500 inhabitants in the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace). It belongs to the arrondissement of Mulhouse and the canton of Saint-Louis.
