The waterwheel in Oberdorf is a small but charming destination, perfect for a leisurely hike or bike ride in the Solothurn Jura. The lovingly restored wheel is a reminder of the region's former use of hydropower and vividly illustrates how technology and nature have interacted here for centuries.

A beautiful hike and not too strenuous. While it's still pleasant here in the gorge in summer, it's worth going a little off-season, when it's much quieter.

In Solothurn, on the banks of the Aare, one must stop to admire the view of the Aare flowing gracefully past the "most beautiful baroque city in Switzerland", framed by charming historic buildings and the Jura Mountains in the distance. This picturesque location offers a peaceful setting for a stroll on the river or a relaxing break to watch the boats drift by.

The beautiful Waldegg Castle was built at the end of the 17th century. Back then, it served as the summer residence of the mayor, Johann Viktor I von Besenval. It's really amazing that I'm supposed to be a pioneer here, since I've only been to Solothurn once in my life and I've walked this beautiful tour there. It's a pity that apparently no local Komoot user who is really experienced in the area ever came up with the idea.
